Window with electric drive
The windows in front of the onyx wall can be retracted down to the floor (5x3m!). The heating system over the floor along the glazed wall prevents from the glass misting.
In the retractable window engine room houses the original load-supporting guiding systems have been preserved. During the restoration of the house, the actuators were reinstalled and the mechanism was made operable including the preserved retraction system with chains. This is a unique system enabling the window retraction down to the floor level in the main living room thus achieving an impressive blending of the interior and exterior.
Ventilation - air conditioning
The ventilation system brings filtered and thermally treated air to the main living room. Partial air-cooling and humidifying takes place in a special shower chamber, the base of which is laid with stone boulders onto which waterfalls from jets fitted in longitudinal water pipes. Filtration is provided by an oil rotation filter with a clock drive and a filter with a wooden filter media which separating oil fractions. Two hot air steel exchangers heat air. The whole ventilation system has been preserved in its original state and is fully functional.
Moth chamber
Described in the original drawings the moth chamber is also sometimes referred to as a storeroom or fur coat safe. It has been preserved in the original condition, i.e. with original white earthenware tiles, which are also on the ceiling, ceramic floor tiles and hanger bars (brass tubes). The natural airflow prevented fur clothes from becoming moth-eaten.
